This beautiful piece is hand made and painted by a traditional ceramics company in Seto, Aichi. The history of the company goes back nearly a century. An expression of Japanese beauty, these fukuju maneki neko are produced by a skilled and dedicated team. One artist produces the maneki neko cat, another the accessories.
Note the different colored eyes which represent the cat's fickle nature. Other features are the delicate eyeliner and pretty diamond-shaped ribbon in purple. The maneki neko sits on a black, wooden stand with cloth cover in a red floral design.
Each piece is unique and makes for an exquisite decoration or Japanese gift for family or friends.
