This striking maneki neko design is all black with splashes of gold, red and blue.
This beautiful piece is hand made and painted by a traditional ceramics company in Seto, Aichi. The history of the company goes back nearly a century. An expression of Japanese beauty, these fukuju maneki neko are produced by a skilled and dedicated team. One artist produces the maneki neko cat, another the accessories.
Note the different colored eyes which represent the cat's fickle nature. Other features are the delicate eyeliner and pretty ribbon with chrysanthemum motif. The black wooden stand and its abstract cover match the design of the maneki neko.
Each piece is unique and makes for an exquisite decoration or Japanese gift for family or friends.
