The tengu is the archetype of the devil, and is most commonly seen as a mask at Japanese festivals where the chant 'Devils out, good luck in' can be heard. With its red face, comical bug eyes and Pinocchio nose, the oni is more loved than it is feared, and actually assumes a position of warding off evil as much as representing it. Recommended for a vivid dash of the uncompromisingly exotic in the sturdiest and best of taste.
