After the sadness of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Tohoku northern Japan, potter Rikio Hashimato looked to the blue sky above his studio in Shimane Prefecture for inspiration to create a series of pieces called "Misato Blue" named after the village where his kiln is located.
The deep blue color symbolizes hope and a new dawn.
This lovely sake flask or flower vase is a limited production of only five pieces ever made.
