Geta
Geta are traditional Japanese open footwear with elevated wooden soles and cloth thongs (hanao) that fit between the big toe and the index (scond) toe. As such they are a mix between clogs, sandals and a pair of flip-flops.
Geta are usually worn with traditional Japanese clothing such as yukata and kimono. The wooden base (called dai in Japanese) makes a distinctive sound on the ground as you walk.
Geta are often offered to guests at Japanese onsen hotels to enjoy a stroll outside.
